Yes — the Mixx Analog Plus is a fully automatic vinyl record player, which means the tonearm is entirely motor-controlled. You should never move or adjust the tonearm by hand, as doing so can damage the automatic turntable mechanism.
Being “fully automatic” simply means the turntable does all the work for you. Press Play, and the tonearm will lift itself, glide across to the correct starting point, lower gently onto the record, and begin playing without you needing to touch it. When the record reaches the end, the tonearm automatically lifts again and returns to its rest position.
If you want to start somewhere other than the first track, use the Forward button to guide the tonearm further along the record. Pressing and holding the button will move it in larger increments. Just avoid the temptation to pick up the tonearm manually — the mechanism is motorised and forcing it by hand can cause damage.
To play a record, place it on the platter and select the correct speed using the FN button on the unit (or the 33/45 buttons on the remote). Choose 33 or 45 RPM, then press the Size button to select either 12" or 7". The display will show “VR”together with your chosen speed and size.
Setting the correct size is important, as choosing the wrong one can cause the tonearm to lower in the wrong place or damage the stylus.
If you're playing a 7" single with a large centre hole, use the 45 RPM adapter, which sits in the holder beside the turntable.
Remove the stylus protector, open the tonearm clip, and press Play. The tonearm will lift, move into position and lower automatically. When the record finishes, it will lift and return to rest, ready for the next play.
If you’d like the record to loop continuously, press Repeat and the turntable will automatically return to the beginning when the record ends. Do bear in mind that some vinyl records don’t have the usual run-out grooves the turntable relies on, so it may not stop automatically. If that happens, simply press Stop and the tonearm will return to rest — this is normal for certain pressings.
In short: the Mixx Analog Plus handles all tonearm movement for you. Always use the buttons to control playback, and avoid moving the tonearm by hand to keep the motorised mechanism in good working order.
